Freeway as a Kitten
‘Freeway received her name the day my husband stopped traffic on a 4-lane road to scoop her up and bring her home. She was small enough to fit in his shirt pocket and we bottle-fed her until she was old enough to eat solid food. From the moment she arrived she made it clear she had a huge personality, bold, fearless, loyal and loving. She always thought of herself as a human, having to taste all human food and sleeping only when we went to bed. She was always with us as we worked around the house, watched TV or were in the yard. She chased deer, dogs, raccoons, skunks, and even once a bear, out of our yard.’
